TsElo5
TsElo5 encodes ∆-5 elongase from Thraustochytrium sp. which functions in the Δ-9 elongase/desaturase pathway and could convert C20:5 to C22:5.
Description
The TsELO5 gene e ncodes a ∆-5 elongase of 449 amino acids from Thraustochytrium sp. that catalyzes the conversion of Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA; C20:5n-3) to Docosapentaenoic acid (DPA; C22:5 n- 3).
Literature
Hashimoto et al. employed this enzyme in A. limacinum mh0186 to obtain target product yield of 63%, demonstrating the high availability of the enzyme activity.
